Meet the coach

Scotty Harper | THE SPEED ARCHITECT

Co-Founder of Bendigo’s Own Speed + Strength Training

Scotty knows elite performance. Coming through the junior academy systems for multiple sports, he competed at both state and national levels, taking home state medals as a junior sprinter and jumper. But he doesn't just rely on past accolades—Scotty still walks the walk. After injuries derailed his early sporting career, he has remained committed to training every single week for the last 20 years. Obsessed with speed and strength, he has over this period turned his hand to bodybuilding, powerlifting, distance running, sprinting, and various types of resistance training.

With over 15 years in the fitness industry as a qualified trainer and a Level 2 Accredited Sprints and Jumps Coach, Scotty brings a professional standard to local sport and athletics. He is deeply committed to his own ongoing education, constantly evolving his methods so he can pass the most up-to-date, high-level knowledge down to his athletes.

But his true "why" hits much closer to home. As a dedicated dad of four, Scotty is incredibly passionate about the Bendigo youth community. He founded BOSS Training to give kids another option—a real opportunity to learn how to get better, prepare properly, and understand their own bodies.

Whether he’s running sessions at the local athletics track, community ovals, or his dedicated home gym facility, Scotty’s focus goes far beyond just making kids tired. He teaches the mechanics of speed, pure acceleration, mobility, and strength, while integrating the crucial elements of nutrition and mental resilience.

His ultimate goal? To mentor and help young athletes build bulletproof confidence and empower them to become the absolute best versions of themselves, both athletically and mentally.
